For the first time, some hospitals in the United States have begun treatment for new coronavirus infections.Others are still seeing a surge in patients

Absalon doesn’t know why the numbers remain high.

Local leaders continue to promote vaccination efforts, but Absalon said the recent increase was the increase in local infections among unvaccinated crowds as the weather warmed. I suspect that this is due to the frequent increase in tourists visiting the area.

He states that current Covid-19 patients are also being tested for viral variants.

“The vaccination rate in our county is very good, but it’s clear that it’s not at the level of immunity in the herd,” he said.

Young American hospitalized

Dr. Jeffrey Chapman, Chief Medical Officer of the Cheyenne Community Medical Center in the southeastern part of the state, said: He and his staff members say they are worried about the recent increase in Covid-19 patients.

“It’s scary to see numbers literally double or triple in a week,” he said.

The hospital’s demographics of Covid-19 patients are shifting to the younger age group due to the delay in vaccination in the younger age group.

“Two-thirds of people in the intensive care unit are … 50-60 years old, but in the past almost everyone was in their 70s and 80s,” Chapman said. “And we’ve actually seen a small number of pediatric patients, but we haven’t seen them for quite some time.”

“Therefore, we can infer that the younger age group is vaccinated less frequently, so more younger age groups need to be hospitalized,” Chapman said. “Is it relevant? Yes, is it causal? There is no absolute data to support it, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that.”
