Actor Chunky Panday has revealed the only incident where he realized he had become an obsolete figure for the new generation. Chunky, who made his Bollywood debut with Aag Hi Aag in 1987, couldn’t find a good job in India after a few years and focused on the Bangladesh film industry. When he returned a few years later, he realized that the new generation didn’t know who he was.

Speaking about the time he felt hurt by a child’s comment, Chunky told RJ Siddharth Kannan in an interview: “The biggest incident that happened to me was when I went to a marriage and a five year old child came to me and said: Uncle, uncle, suna hai tum hero the ek zamane ke. Aapka naam kya hai (Uncle, I heard that you are a great hero some time ago. What’s your name)? I felt very hurt. I said to her: “Beta, you jaake apni mom ko pooch mera naam kya hai. Teri mama mujhe zaroor jaanti hogi (Son, go ask your mom, she must know me for sure). “

Chunky said that after being recognized in Bangladesh, he married Bhavana Pandey. However, she prompted him to return to work in Indian films, which she said had made him who he was.

Speaking about why he couldn’t find a job in Bollywood after starring in blockbuster movies, Chunky said it’s because he’s always been a part of multi-star movies. Over the years, stars such as Govinda, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar have continued to appear every year and have insisted on making solo films, leaving little room for actors such as Chunky. He did admit, however, that if he had accepted character roles at the time, he might have found a better job.
