Matthew Lillard and Bill Whirity Create Decentralized Movie Studio – Deadline
EXCLUSIVE: Actor Matthew Lillard, best known for his roles in blockbuster movies Scream and scooby-dooand writer-director Bill Whirity launched Midnite Movie Club, an NFT-based project that allows holders to participate in the first ever “Decentralized Movie Studio”. Lillard and Whirity want to put the power back into the public by letting them decide which films the company will produce.
Midnite Movie Club specifically focuses on the genre space, i.e. Horror, Sci-Fi, Action/Adventure, and Fantasy. The first project of the newly created company is a high-level concept vampire film title let them die – which will go into production in the summer of 2022.
Midnite Movie Club is set up as a DAO or Decentralized Autonomous Organization, which means the community makes decisions together. This is possible thanks to blockchain technology, the vote will be fair and transparent.
