Bozoma Saint John leaves Endeavor for Netflix CMO Post

She will succeed Jackie Lee-Joe, the former marketing director for BBC Studios, who has been Netflix’s marketing director since September.
Bozoma Saint John has been appointed Director of Marketing at Netflix, leaving her current position as Managing Director at Endeavor, a position she has held since 2018.
Saint John will take over from Jackie Lee-Joe, the former CMO of BBC Studios who was appointed Marketing Manager at Netflix in July 2019. Lee-Joe held a position previously held by Kelly Bennett, who left this year -the. after six years at the streamer.
“Bozoma Saint John is an exceptional marketer who knows how to lead conversations around popular culture better than anyone,” said Netflix content manager Ted Sarandos. “As we bring better stories to our members around the world, it will define and lead our next exciting phase of creativity and connection with consumers.” He added that Netflix was “grateful for the contributions of Jackie Lee-Joe and we wish him all the best.”
In his new role, Saint John will be responsible for the marketing of a global entertainment business that reaches nearly 183 million subscribers and publishes a complete list of original movies and TV shows each year.

At Endeavor, Saint John was responsible for marketing efforts through its brand portfolio, including the agency WME and the professional sports organization UFC. She joined Endeavor from Uber, where she served as brand manager. During her 20-year career, she also held leading marketing positions with Apple Music and iTunes, as well as with Pepsi-Cola North America.
Like many Hollywood companies, Endeavor has been hit hard financially by the effects of the new coronavirus pandemic, such as the cessation of film and television production and the cessation of live events. In May, WME announced that 20% of its employees would be laid off, put on leave, or reduced part-time during the pandemic.
Saint John is a prominent loss to Endeavor after several high-level agents have left WME in the past month, including Marc Geiger, a partner and the agency’s global music leader, and Theresa Kang- Lowe, who after almost two decades at WME left to start his own management company.
