Disha Vakani’s brother denies the actor has throat cancer: ‘Bohot galat…’
The world has woken up to shocking news about Disha Vakani suffering from throat cancer. Popularly known as Dayaben of Taarak Mehta Ooltah Chashmah, reports suggested that his particular tone had led to cancer. Thwarting speculation, his brother Mayur Vakani told indianexpress.com that this is fake news. “Bohot galat news hai. Aisa kuch nahi hai. Sab thik hai. It’s just a rumor (it’s really bad news. There’s no such thing),” he shared.
Neela Film Productions who are funding the show also told us the news was fake. Disha Vakani left Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in 2017 after giving birth to her first child. As the team waited for his return, the actor, who had another baby recently, doesn’t seem too eager to return.
During a press conference introducing the new Taarak Mehta, Asit Kumarr Modi said, “The character of Daya Bhabhi is such that people have not forgotten him. It’s been almost five years and people are still talking about her. His absence is felt by everyone, myself included. I have a lot of respect for her and duly waited for her during the pandemic and am still waiting for her today. We hope for a miracle so that she can come back.
He then assured that even if Disha Vakani does not return, he will find a new actor to play the role.
