Why actor Ibu's burial date was set for June, a few weeks after his death
Famous Nollywood actor John Okafor aka Mr. Ibu will be laid to rest on June 28, 2024.
The date of the burial was released on Saturday by Mr Ibus' elder brother, Sunday Okafor, who said the actor would be given a heroic farewell, hence the delay in his burial.
In a statement jointly signed by the family and members of the burial committee, Mr. Ibu will be buried at his home in his hometown of Amuri in Nkanu West Local Government Area of the state. Enugu.

According to the funeral arrangements, the funeral ceremony would begin on Tuesday, June 25 with a highly publicized never-before-seen match, while on Wednesday, June 26, there would be a session called Mr Ibus Night, which includes a candlelight procession and a live performance.
On June 27, a Christian Wake-Keep will be held at his compound in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West while the funeral will take place on June 28.
The five-day funeral ceremony will conclude on Sunday, June 30, with a thanksgiving at the church for family members, friends and well-wishers.
The funeral committee will be chaired by the Hon. Monday Diamond Ani.
The actor rose to fame 20 years ago in the Nigerian comedy Mr Ibu – which became his nickname. It is still considered one of the best Nigerian performances in a comedic role.
He has appeared in over 200 Nollywood films, including the Mr. Ibu series.
