In a fight over basic necessities in Jokowi, three people are injured
Chaos during the open house at the State Palace
JAKARTA, TIMEX.FAJAR.CO.ID At the end of his term, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) held an open day for the public after Eid al-Fitr prayers on Wednesday (10/4).
Unfortunately, the activities organized at the State Palace turned out to be chaotic. So much so that three people were rushed to hospital. One of them was injured in the temple. Then there was also a person whose head sank, apparently because he was hit.
Chaos occurred during the distribution of basic necessities. Karo Protocol of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, explained that the palace had prepared 3,300 basic food packages. However, distribution is done selectively. Only residents deemed in need will receive basic necessities.
Not everything was given as many well-off people also attended the open house, he said.
The basic food packages were placed at the side exit of the State Palace towards the main State Secretariat building. Basic necessities are attached to the tent. According to protocol, basic necessities were distributed to residents who shook hands with President Jokowi and his wife Iriana.
In reality, there was a struggle between people. Some tried to enter through the exit without shaking hands with Jokowi and Iriana.
“A large number of people were competing for basic necessities and food in the basic food tents,” Yusuf said.
