Jokowi praises the very modern IDTH Kominfo system: the budget is IDR 980 billion

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the equipment at the Telecommunications Equipment Test Center or Indonesian Digital Test House (IDTH), owned by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo), was very modern. He said the budget allocated for the construction of IDTH reached IDR 980 billion.
“Earlier, the Minister of Communication and Information (Budi Arie Setiadi-ed.) said that it is the largest and most comprehensive in ASEAN and that it is the center certification of digital devices in the region I went through all the rooms, indeed the devices are super modern, very good,” Jokowi said in his speech in Tapos, Depok, West Java, Tuesday ( 7/5/2024).
Jokowi admitted he was not surprised by the sophistication of IDTH's equipment. “Because to build this, the budget used was almost 1,000 billion rupees, which is less than 980 billion rupees. So if the equipment is as sophisticated as that, don’t be surprised because of the budget,” he said.

He said IDTH had a crucial role. That electronic devices such as laptops and cell phones are all tested at IDTH before being released to the market.
“Everything is tested in this center before being released to the market. Tested here to ensure safety and health standards,” he said.
Jokowi hopes that IDTH will not just be a certificate testing place. But in the future, it will be a place to strengthen the digital ecosystem with easier access to certification.
“I ask Kominfo to encourage IDTH to become an RnD center, to collaborate with universities, MSMEs, to encourage research and patents. This is what we aspire to together. Digitalization becomes the basis of industrial development by placing local producers as kings in their own country,” he concluded.
