The House of Representatives has yet to receive a presidential decree from Jokowi regarding the new KPU chairman.

jpnn.comJAKARTA – Deputy Chairman of the DPR RI Muhaimin Iskandar revealed that his party has not received a presidential letter (surprises) from Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding the replacement of former chairman of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy'ari.
“Until today, not yet,” he said in a press release at the HI roundabout area, Jakarta, Sunday (21/7).
However, the one who is familiarly called Cak Imin said that he did not rule out the possibility that his institution would receive this surprise in the near future.
“Maybe this week, yes,” he said.
Previously, President Joko Widodo signed Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 73P dated July 9, 2024 regarding the dishonorable dismissal of Hasyim Asy'ari as a member of the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU).
The president signed the presidential decree after the Indonesian Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP) imposed a permanent dismissal sanction on Hasyim in connection with an alleged immorality case.
“Imposing permanent dismissal sanctions on the defendant Hasyim Asy'ari as chairman and member of the Indonesian General Election Commission as of the reading of this decision,” said Indonesian DKPP Chairman Heddy Lugito during the decision reading session at the Indonesian DKPP office in Jakarta, Wednesday (3/7).
Furthermore, the Indonesian DKPP upheld the complainant's complaint in its entirety and requested the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, to replace Hasyim within seven days of reading the decision.
DPR RI Deputy Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar said his party had not received the president's letter.
