He added that India is one of the highest pricing nations in the world … They are very intelligent. He [PM Modi] is a very intelligent man and a great friend to me. We had very good discussions. I think it will work very well between India and our country. And I mean you have a great Prime Minister.

This week, Trump made a major political announcement of the oval office by declaring a 25% rate on all imported vehicles entering the United States, a decision he described as very exciting for national manufacturing.

The prices, which should take effect on April 2, will have an impact on almost half of all vehicles sold in the United States, including American brands assembled abroad. The large measure aims to encourage car manufacturers to establish more production facilities within American borders.

Earlier, on several occasions, Trump had targeted India, saying that they had the highest prices and that it is a difficult place to do business.
