Vice President Gibran continues Jokowi’s sacrificial tradition at Singo Ludiro Islamic boarding school

JATENGPOS.CO.ID, SUKOHARJO — Singo Ludiro Khalifatullah Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Laban Village, Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo, once again received the help of sacrificial animals from the Solo family, Wednesday (05/27). The tradition of sacrifice, which was previously practiced regularly by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, is now officially continued by his son who is also the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

This Eid al-Adha, Vice President Gibran sent a Simental cow weighing up to 800 kilograms. Although technical problems delayed the arrival of the sacrificial animals from the initial schedule, the giant cow arrived safely at the cabin the day before the slaughter.

The caretaker of Singo Ludiro Khalifatullah Islamic Boarding School, Umi Lilis Patimah, expressed deep gratitude for the Joko Widodo family’s steadfastness in caring for students and residents around the boarding school.

“Thank God, today we carried out a cow sacrifice sent by Mr. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. It is a Simental type weighing 800 kilograms. This assistance is a continuation of the tradition of Mr. Joko Widodo when he was president, and in total from his family, it is the 12th time,” said Umi Lilis.

Apart from the Vice President’s cows, the Singo Ludiro Khalifatullah Islamic Boarding School also slaughtered 9 goats, the number of which is expected to continue to increase to 15 as there will be additional sacrificial animals from donors on the second and third days of Tasyrik.

All the sacrificial meat will be distributed to 210 people who are members of the extended family of the Islamic boarding school as well as people living in the right and left areas of the boarding school.

Unlike other places, some of the sacrificial meat will also be cooked together in the hut for the enjoyment of the extended family of the Islamic boarding school and local residents.

There is something interesting about the sacrificial procession at Singo Ludiro Khalifatullah Islamic Boarding School. All stages of carrying out the sacrifice, from slaughter, skinning, cutting of the meat, its distribution to cooking, are carried out independently by the students.

Umi Lilis explained that active student participation was done deliberately as part of the learning process outside the classroom.
