Tajik President meets senior Chinese diplomat on bilateral relations
On Sunday, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met with Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), the two sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties.
Yang, also director of the office of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPC Central Committee, said that two countries were "good neighbors, friends, partners and brothers" and that last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Rahmon have agreed on a new plan to revive bilateral relations to build the China-Tajikistan development community and security community.

Yang also highlighted some achievements under the Belt and Road initiative, saying the two sides should continue to push for projects under the framework.
The Chinese official also briefed the Tajik President on China's efforts to contain the new coronavirus disease COVID-19.
He said China is making considerable efforts in fighting the epidemic under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, as well as on anti-virus measures adopted in tandem with those aimed at promoting economic and social development.
China thanks Tajikistan for sending medical supplies to support anti-virus efforts, Yang said, adding that China will continue to strengthen international cooperation with international society in safeguarding public health security. World.
