Vladimir Putin: Erdogan will meet Putin in Russia on Thursday for talks with Syria
"The president is scheduled to make a full-day visit to Russia on March 5," said the Turkish presidency in a statement.
Turkey confirmed on Sunday that it has launched a full military operation against Russian-backed Syrian forces following growing clashes in the last rebel stronghold of Idlib.
Ankara, which supports Islamist fighters in the province, killed 19 Syrian soldiers on Sunday in drone strikes and shot down two regime planes.
But it remains determined to avoid direct confrontations with Moscow, with which it shares important commercial and defense ties.
Despite opposing the conflict, Turkey and Russia have co-ordinated closely in the past.
They concluded an agreement in Sochi in 2018 that led Turkey to establish 12 military observation posts in Idlib to prevent a Syrian offensive and a new wave of refugees in Turkish territory.
But Syria and Russia appear increasingly determined to regain full control of the region, and an offensive launched in December displaced nearly a million civilians and saw growing clashes between Turkish and Syrian forces.
The latest escalation followed the murder of 34 Turkish soldiers last week in an alleged air strike in Damascus.
