Charlotte Womens Tennis has been added to the roster for the upcoming spring season
CHARLOTTE Charlotte Women's Tennis introduced Yelyzaveta Chainykova as the newest member of the team during last week's signing period. She will join the 49ers this spring after her pro tour season concludes.
“We are very happy and excited to bring (Yelyzaveta) to the Niners in January,” coach Anthony Davison said. “She is a very controlled and flexible player with a lot of experience who can immediately help us in singles and doubles.
She comes to Charlotte immediately after gaining her first WTA points and we hope to be able to help her on her path to the pros in the future.”
Chainykova is from Ukraine, but spends most of her time training in Nice, France. She has already collected eight ITF Junior doubles titles and added a singles title win, reaching a height of No. 165 in the World Tennis Tour Juniors Rankings. Chainykova also recently earned her first WTA points in Tunisia.
“I met her and her coaches in France last month and was impressed by her hard work and professionalism,” Davison said. “She will be a great addition to our team.”
Chainykova will join the 49ers for the spring season in January. Charlotte achieved 50 wins in fall singles and another 15 in doubles in six tournaments, led by by Sara Suchankova running to the ITA Sectional Championships.
