Jimmy Snuggered Gophers Hockey connection goes three generations deep
For the past three years, Dave and Ann Snuggerud on Friday and Saturday evening from their Chaska house to the University of Minnesota -Campus have been daring to see their son, Jimmy, play for the Gophers Mens Hockey team. It has been a festive family affair, with various family members who participated, including James Westby, Anns Vader.
Westby and Dave and Jimmy Snuggudaud share a common bond. They have all played hockey for the Gophers and have represented the United States in international play at high level Westby and Dave in the 1964 and 1988 Olympic Games, and Jimmy in the Junior World Championship.
They are also united by something that Jimmy is hopeful that he can help change from Thursday at the NCAA Fargo Regional. None of the trio has won a national championship with the Gophers, although Dave came close in 1989 and Jimmy in 2023 when Minnesota lost both times in the extension in the NCAA final.

For Jimmy Snuggerud, the most important scorer of the teams, this is his last go-round with the Gophers.
