Brad Taylor returns as the Beeden football coach.
Beeden announced that the Taylor hired, which led the school to the TSSAA Football Class 5A State Semifinals in 2007 to fill the left when the school was former coach Josh Jones in February.
“Coach Taylor does great work in leading and developing young men of character as a football coach,” the school wrote in a release. “He has experience at a collegial level, both as a player and graduate assistant coach at Tennessee Tech University (class of 1999). He is a proven winner who emphasizes the development of players, both on and outside the football field.”
Jones Fireing came weeks after it was discovered that the Bearden High School Football Booster Club paid at least two coaches at least $ 60,000 in two years, according to a study by the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury. No Beeden coaches were mentioned in the study.
Taylor, graduated from Bearden from 1994, coached in Beeden from 2007-13. He ended with a record of 54-28 and led the bulldogs to six Playoff performances during his first Stint at the school. His team from 2007 went 12-2 and reached the semi-final of the class 5A, and earned Taylor the prepxtra coach of the year award.
Taylor resigned from Bearden and stepped in 2013 from head coaching. He appeared again as the Karns football coach of 2016-23, stabilizing the wrestling program as his longest regular coach since at least 1957. Taylor resigned as a coach in 2023 but remained with Karns as a teacher and assistant-Baantcoach for the past two years.

In 2021, Taylor Karns led to his first play -off victory. He went 26-46 in general, including 14-9 during his last two seasons. That included a 7-4 record and class 5A Playoffs appearance in 2022.

Officers of Booster Club wrote 23 checks to football coaches without the approval of the KNOX County School System, according to the report of the competent.
