Qatar free zones to host the Google Cloud region in Doha
The Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZA) announced today that Google Cloud has signed its first strategic collaboration agreement in the Middle East with QFZA to launch a new cloud region in Doha. The region will be available to Google Cloud customers worldwide.
His Excellency Ahmad bin Mohamed Al-Sayed, Minister of State and President of the Qatar Free Zones Authority, said: "We are delighted to welcome Google Cloud as a partner in free zones in order to further develop our cutting-edge technological ecosystem: a strategy to promote investments in the country, the Google Cloud region will be a major and invaluable part of our expanding offer, serving a wide range of businesses, both locally than international. QFZA is working closely with the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) to provide cloud computing opportunities to businesses in Qatar and promote other digital initiatives through the TASMU program.
