A small earthquake strikes the Al-Baha region of Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Geological Survey said in a statement that an earthquake of magnitude 3.62 struck the Saudi Al-Baha region this morning, Wednesday.

SGS said the quake hit southwest of Al Baha at 9:34 am

SGS spokesman, Tariq Aba Al-Khail, explained in a separate statement that the earthquake came as a result of tectonic pressures in the Red Sea.

He added that a specialized team was dispatched to inspect the areas hit by the earthquake to assess its impact on the facilities and collect the information necessary to prepare a report on seismic activity in the area.

According to Al-Ekhbariya channel, there were no reports of injuries or serious damage.

Al-Ekhbariya added that the earthquake was felt in the Al-Makhwah and Baljurashi areas.
