King Charles’ state visit to France has been postponed after pension protests turned violent. The monarch was due to visit Paris and Bordeaux, but President Emmanuel Macron asked for a delay after several French cities saw the worst violence since demonstrations began in January. It comes in the wake of the Macron government’s move to raise the pension age from 62 to 64 and extend the number of years of contributions.
