David Lammy has called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during his first visit to Israel and the Palestinian Territories as Foreign Secretary. In talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa on Sunday, the newly appointed minister also called for the release of all hostages in Gaza and an increase in the flow of aid to the territory. “I'm here to push for a ceasefire,” he said. “The loss of life in the last few months… it's terrible. It has to stop.” It comes after the Hamas-run Health Ministry said 80 Palestinians had been killed in Israeli airstrikes in the past 24 hours.
