They were born to me Safa and Marwa, they have never seen each other’s faces.
There is no official figure when this frequency occurs, but an estimate says that when craniopagus twins are born 2.5 million are born once.
Most do not live longer than one day.
To separate them, they required multiple surgeries, months of hard work, and the experience of hundreds of hospital staff.
The BBC gave surgeons exclusive access to Great Ormond Street as they worked to separate the two girls.
