Saeb Erekat: Palestinian chief negotiator Covid-19 killed – BBC News
Officials say Saeb Erekat, one of the most prominent Palestinian political figures, was killed with Covid-19. The 65-year-old man died at the Hadassah medical center in Jerusalem. Erekat was the secretary general of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and adviser to the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas. The man who led peace talks with Israel for the past two and a half decades has expressed three days of mourning in power. Erekat helped negotiate the important Oslo Accords in 1993. This created power and gave the Palestinians limited self-government in the West Bank and Gaza since Israel first occupied the territories in 1967. Subscribe HERE .
