Canada’s response to the earthquake in Croatia

The Honorable Francois-Philippe Champaign, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced funding to support emergency response and recovery efforts in Croatia, following the recent devastating earthquake of 6.4 magnitude.

The Government of Canada will contribute C $ 500,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to support the Croatian Red Cross response and assist those affected by the earthquake, by distributing basic commodities such as food and water to those affected.

The Government of Canada will continue to work closely with the Canadian Red Cross and the Government of Croatia to assess the situation and ensure a coordinated response.
