Coronavirus: South Korea confirms its cases – BBC News

 



South Korea has stepped up its measures to spread the new dead coronavirus, with confirmed infections rising significantly in a second day.

Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said it was an emergency.

Daegu and the southern city of Cheongdo have been designated as a “focus area”. The streets of Daegu are now largely abandoned.

South Korea has also shut down soldiers, thanks to coronavirus, after several soldiers tested positive.

Authorities also say about 9,000 members of a religious group are self-reliant after identifying a hot coronavirus from the sect.

On Thursday, 52 new cases were confirmed by 53 countries, which were confirmed Thursday. South Korea, with a total of 156 cases, became the largest foreign set on the Chinese mainland, and cruise ships docked in Japan.
