National offer day sees over 4,800 secondary school places allocated

This is an increase of 60 places from the year before, where 95% of families secured a place at one of their three preferred schools, a slight increase on last year. 76 per cent of applicants (3682 children) secured a place at their first school, 14.2 per cent (689) of pupils secured a place at their second preferred school and 4.8 per cent (230) of pupils in their third preferred school.

Families who applied for high school online by the Oct. 31 deadline will receive an offer by email today and can check their offer in online counseling.Admissions Portal.

High school is the beginning of the next step in a young person's educational journey and will help develop them into adulthood. Their years at secondary school will provide them with a wealth of new experiences, skills and knowledge, so it's fantastic to see that 95% of applications have been awarded a place at one of their three preferred schools .

All applications have the right to appeal (via the independent appeal process) if they have been unable to secure a place at one of the school's most preferred options.

The next round of secondary school place allocation (for late applicants) will take place in April/May.

Primary school places will be announced on April 16.
