September 1 (Reuters)-The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) quoted data on shot efficacy on Wednesday as an urgent need for a booster of a fully vaccinated COVID-19 vaccine. Said not.
Comments follow a similar statement from the European Medicines Agency last month that more data were needed on the post-inoculation protection period to recommend the use of booster shots. read more
According to the ECDC, evidence of actual efficacy shows that all vaccines approved in the region are highly protective against COVID-19-related hospitalizations, severe illnesses and deaths.
However, officials said additional doses could be considered for people with limited response to the standard regimen, adding that these shots should be treated differently than the boosted immune dose. ..
