Fresno County Acquires Shipment of Trial Drug to Treat COVID-19 Patients
Fresno, Calif. (KGPE) — Physicians in Fresno County are looking for more drug rendezibir to help treat COVID-19 patients, health officials say.
Dr. Rais Vohra, a provisional health authority, says Fresno County has received 337 doses of rendecibir through a state quota sufficient to treat 25 patients.

Dose is being sent to local hospitals based on the number of patients.

Rendesibir may already play a role in the recovery of at least one local patient named Karen Parker-Bryant who was admitted to Clovis Community Hospital on April 2.

After spending 35 days on the ventilator, she was finally released from the hospital on Tuesday.
“(It) really tightened my mind to see her actually come out and know that she survived this, which took many people away,” David said.
The FDA issued an emergency permit for the drug on May 1.
