Grand Forks, ND (Valley News Live)-The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) is working with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to investigate children with unexplained hepatitis. The child lives in Grand Forks County. The child is recovering at home after a short hospital stay.
North Dakota is one of the growing list of states investigating children with hepatitis whose usual causes have been ruled out. Minnesota confirmed at least two cases last week. click here For more information.
“We encourage healthcare providers to review records up to October 2021 for patients in need of further investigation,” said Kirby Kruger, Chief of Health Services. “NDDoH is working with the CDC to identify cases that help understand the causes of hepatitis in children and help understand how to prevent these diseases from occurring in the future.”
