Developed at IISc-incubated startup Theranautilus, nanobots were injected into extracted tooth samples and their movements were tracked using a microscope. By fine-tuning the frequency of the magnetic field, researchers were able to move the nanobots freely and penetrate deep into the dentin tubules, according to IISc. They were able to manipulate the magnetic field to generate heat on the surface of the nanobots and kill nearby bacteria.
