How can Ayurveda and Naturopathic help boost your immune system?

Dr. Manoj Kutteri, Wellness Director at Atmantan Wellness Centre, shares tips on better immune systems based on Ayurveda and naturopathic medicine. Read on to find out more.

Every human body has an inherent doctor called the immune system. Science today has conveniently forgotten this inherent ability of the human body to heal itself. The Ayurvedic, naturopathic, and yoga system has been built to fit this “healthy” health model recently proposed by evolutionary biologists around the world. The understanding is that human physiology is a self-correcting system that does not allow external intervention in the mild syndrome.

Ayurvedic treatment is a natural cure for viral infections. The traditional Ayurvedic Panchakarma Retreat is one of the best Ayurvedic remedies to treat viral infections such as coronavirus by deeply nourishing, enriching and cleaning. Through yogaritia such as Neti and Duti, Ayurvedic panchakarma is carried out in various forms such as Shirodara, Januvasti and Katibasti, which cleanse the body with hydrotherapy and cure from within. Cleansing therapy helps the body detoxify and boosts the immune system to fight viral infections.

Ayurveda is full of powerful medicines and herbs that boost immunity and cure coughs and colds. Tulsi is an herb for all reasons. It has vitamin C, antioxidants, preservatives and antiviral properties. For cold, flu and other viral infections and viruses as severe as coronaviruses, Tulsi leaves are the perfect solution to overcome viral infections, boost immunity and recover from the infection. It is recommended to chew one fresh tulsi leaf daily to combat viral infections. In addition, adding leaves to tulsi tea, soups, foods, etc., increases immunity and gives a sense of security.

Ayurvedic habits help maintain good health through seasonal viral infections. Whether you’re coughing, cold, or flu, Ayurvedic lifestyle helps improve your body’s function, boost immunity, and help fight infections.

Here are some tips:

Turmeric paste – Turmeric is a healing Ayurvedic herb known for its healing properties. Make a turmeric paste or add honey to raw turmeric and you’ll be relieved of coughing and sneezing.

Take- Neem has antiseptic and antiviral properties. Neem preparations can be taken daily to combat viral infections.

Fruits and vegetables- Adding lots of fruits, green leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds and more can enrich your diet and bring nutrients for optimal physical function.

Oil pulling and other treatments – Traditional Ayurvedic therapy is a great cleansing, with improved stamina, immunity, and energy to fight disease.

In addition to naturopathic practices, here are some small steps you can take.

Eat clean: The cliché is true. Your body is a temple and you have to be careful what feeds it. Although Blue Moon’s once-daily cheat day does not hurt, inadvertent eating habits are the main reason for impeding the growth of the immune system. Nourish your body with foods rich in vitamins and provide a sufficient amount of fiber. Note that the immune system has nothing to do with how the body looks. For a healthy liver, cruciferous vegetables such as kale, broccoli, and cabbage should be included in your daily diet. A healthy liver guarantees the body’s natural detoxification process.

sleep well: Synchronizing your sleep cycle is one of the greatest gifts you can give your body. The body needs 8 hours of sound sleep to activate and restart the system. Please note that it is not only the 8 hours of sleep that is important, but also the timely sleep. Often we get up to 3am and emphasize ourselves by sleeping only in the sun. It disrupts the normal functioning of our body leading to obesity, stress, emotional imbalances and other illnesses.

work out: Regular exercise has been scientifically proven to boost the immune system. Regular exercise mobilizes T cells, a type of white blood cell that protects the body from infection. However, continued rigorous training weakens the immune system and makes it more susceptible to influenza and viral infections. Low levels of vitamin D in the body are considered one of the leading causes of respiratory problems. Actively walking in the sun for 10-15 minutes produces enough vitamin D in the body. These are simple but very effective adjustments in your daily work. The important thing is to listen carefully and consistently to your body and your conscious life.
