OHSU study shows switching vaccine groups can dramatically improve immune response

Until recently, doctors didn't think it made a difference which ward a patient received the COVID-19 vaccine in. new research Researchers at Oregon Health & Science University have shown that switching groups between doses can increase immune responses by up to four times. Although more research is needed, the researchers believe this improvement may be related to the body learning how to protect itself from the virus, meaning the results may be similar to other multi-dose vaccinations. This means that there is a possibility that it will be repeated in the plan.

Marcel Karlin is an associate professor of medicine and medical director of OHSU's Division of Occupational Health. He joins us to talk about what these findings mean for future vaccine protocols.
