Maryland health officials track contact details after residents are diagnosed with a rare measles incident
Dulles, Virginia (7News) – Residents of Howard County, Maryland, have confirmed measles, and the Maryland Department of Health is currently working to trace contact with others.
This measles case is not thought to be linked to the outbreaks of Texas and New Mexico. The resident traveled internationally and flew to Dulles International Airport last week.
Measles is extremely rare. Many of these cases are almost unprecedented at once. From the abundant attention, health officials are trying to identify people who may have been exposed in Dulles.

If it can be prevented with shots, you know you'll go to shots,” says Dr. Glenn Wortman, section director of infectious diseases at Medstar Washington Hospital Center.
Symptoms usually occur 10-14 days after exposure to the virus, but can develop earlier.
