Coronavirus: 3 virus-related deaths at NI last week

As official figures show, three coronavirus-related deaths were registered in Northern Ireland last week.

The virus was listed on death certificates for a total of 876 people by September 4, he said.

People over the age of 75 account for 80% of all Covid-19-related deaths.

In the week leading up to September 4, all male mortality rates associated with Covid-19 were 49.9% and female mortality rates were 50.1%.
People with addresses in the area of Belfast Parliament accounted for 249 of the 876 registered deaths by last Friday. Fermanagh and Omagh recorded the lowest number (17).

The provisional number of total deaths from August 29th to September 4th was 234-69 less than the previous week (303) and 21 less than the five-year average (255).
The five-year mortality rate is used to compare the weekly mortality rates normally recorded during this period.
