Oakland County residents called for protection from mosquito bites while confirmed EEE cases

- Get rid of mosquito breeding grounds by getting rid of the water standing around your home:
- Turn over any kind of container that can collect water. Once a week, empty any water pools such as tires, buckets, planters, toys, pools, bird baths, pet bowls, flowerpots, and trash cans.
- Clean gutters on clogged roofs, especially if the leaves tend to block the drains.

Mosquito-borne diseases such as EEE are seasonal, flaring during the warm summer months and lasting until autumn. Citizens are required to protect themselves from mosquito bites until the first strong frost of the year.
