Oregon reports 6 COVID-19 deaths and 193 new cases

Weekly reports show fewer deaths but increased hospitalization, infection and test positive rates

Portland, Oregon (KTVZ)-COVID-19 killed six more people in Oregon and raised the state’s death toll to 537, the Oregon Department of Health reported Wednesday.

OHA also reported 193 newly confirmed and estimated cases of COVID-19 at 12:01 am on Wednesday, resulting in 31,503 cases and 614,622 negative test results across the state.

Newly confirmed putative COVID-19 cases reported on Wednesday are in the following counties: Baker (1), Benton (2), Clatsop (9), Clatsop (2), Colombia (2), Couse (2) 2), Deschutz (2), Douglas (1), Hood River (2), Jackson (22), Jefferson (3), Josephine (4), Clatsop (1), Lane (36), Lincoln (1), Lynn (2), Malhall (22), Marion (17), Multnomah (29), Pork (2), Umatilla (12), Wasco (4), Washington (14), Yamhill (1).

There were 61 COVID-19 cases in Crook County, one died and 2,497 tested negative. There were 789 cases in Deschutes County, 12 died and 28,627 negative test results. Jefferson County has 516, 8 deaths and 4,534 negative test results.

The St. Charles Health System reported 7 COVID-19 patients as of Wednesday at 10:30 am.

The 532nd COVID-19 death in Oregon was a 93-year-old woman in Marion County who tested positive on September 11 and died at Sumaritan Albany General Hospital on September 15. She had an underlying illness.

The 533rd COVID-19 death in Oregon was a 93-year-old woman in Multnomah County who tested positive on 14 September and died at the Portland Adventist Medical Center on 15 September. She had an underlying illness.

The 534th COVID-19 death in Oregon was an 82-year-old man in Washington County who tested positive on 17 August and died at the Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center on 19 September. He had a fundamental condition.

The 535th COVID-19 death in Oregon is a 75-year-old man in Lane County who tested positive on September 1 and died at home on September 22. He had a fundamental condition.

The 536th COVID-19 death in Oregon was a 54-year-old man in Multnomah County who tested positive on September 3 and died at the Providence Portland Medical Center on September 7. He had a fundamental condition.

The 537th COVID-19 death in Oregon was a 95-year-old woman in Multnomah County who tested positive on 17 July and died at home on 31 August. She had an underlying illness.

The renewed death certificate does not state COVID-19 disease or SARS-CoV-2 as the cause of death or a significant condition that contributed to his death, with COVID-19-related deaths or cases. Is no longer considered.

OHA releases weekly report

Today’s Weekly report, OHA, pointed out that during the week from September 14th to September 20th, new COVID-19 infections increased by 17% from the previous week to 1,511. The number of newly tested Oregonia increased by 8% to 18,840, and the percentage of positive tests increased from 5.6% to 6.2%.

Eighteen Oregons were reported dead in connection with COVID-19, compared to 29 last week. 116 Oregons were hospitalized, up from 83 last week.

The age group with the highest reported incidence of infection continues to be between the ages of 20 and 29. People under the age of 30 account for 37% of reported cases.

OHA changes childcare reporting guidelines

Starting today, September 23, OHA will change the reporting process for COVID-19 outbreaks in daycare facilities. This change provides a more transparent and comprehensive report on these cases.

Childcare providers should report COVID-19 cases to the local health care provider. Since July, OHA has reported outbreaks of more than 5 cases in institutions enrolling more than 30 children in the Weekly COVID-19 Report.

Under the new reporting threshold, if two or more children occur in a facility that can accommodate 16 or more children, they will be reported if they are not siblings in the same household.
