High blood pressure is a silent killer — Dr. Zoe reveals how to get under control

IT is a silent killer and increases the risk of many life-threatening conditions.

Although rarely noticeable, hypertension, also known as hypertension, is the number one risk factor for death worldwide.

At least half of all heart attacks and strokes are associated with hypertension and are a major risk factor for chronic kidney disease, heart failure and vascular dementia.

Studies also show that there appears to be a link between high blood pressure and severe or mortality from coronavirus. High blood pressure was also found to be a common condition in men under the age of 60, whose life loss is associated with Covid-19, according to National Bureau of Statistics figures.

Scientists are still investigating the link, but if you need another reason to be healthy, this may be the cause.

First of all – how do you know if your blood pressure is high? The only way is to check. You can ask your pharmacist or family doctor, or you can buy your own machine and buy it from your tenor. If you are over 40, you should be tested at least every 5 years. Get a free NHS health check.

Blood pressure measurements record two numbers. The larger the number, the more systolic blood pressure. This is the highest level of your blood pressure – when your heart moves and pushes blood into the arteries.

The other is diastolic blood pressure. This is the lowest level of your blood pressure-when your heart relaxes during your heartbeat. Ideal blood pressure readings are typically between 90/60 mmHg and 120/80 mmHg.

It is in a dangerous area above 180/110 mmHg and may be diagnosed with severe hypertension and should be treated immediately. An extreme rise in blood pressure, known as a high blood pressure crisis, can cause a sudden stroke or heart attack.

One of the major concerns for doctors like me is that more than 5.5 million people in the UK have undiagnosed hypertension. For every 10 people diagnosed with it, another 7 remain undiagnosed.

If you see signs of warning such as headaches, nosebleeds, or blurred vision, your condition may have already progressed to the point where it can be life-threatening. So what increases your risk?

If your family has high blood pressure, or if you are a black or black Caribbean ethnic group, the risk increases as you get older. People in the most disadvantaged areas of the UK are at 30% higher risk.

Although it is associated with older age, more and more young patients are suffering from high blood pressure. So what can you do to reduce your risk of high blood pressure?

Small changes can be very profitable, so going out for a walk every day, eating a healthier diet, reducing the amount of salt and processed foods, and increasing fruits and vegetables can help.

Losing a little weight can help make a big difference in time.
Studies show that reducing just 5 kg (11 lbs) can significantly reduce blood pressure.

It is also worthwhile to reduce alcohol intake and manage stress. Both are significant risk factors for high blood pressure.

There are many ways to treat high blood pressure, but only if you know it. please confirm.

One important advantage is the speed at which information is sent and received. With the help of the internet, the shopping habits of many persons have drastically changed. The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
