Wednesday Update: Oswego County Virus Cases 37 to 1,017 | Public Service News
OSWEGO — Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang announced on Wednesday 11 November that 37 additional residents were COVID-19 positive and the total number of positive cases reached 1,017. 813 people have been released from quarantine. In Oswego County, there are five confirmed COVID-19-related deaths.
“The number of positive cases has increased significantly in the last few days,” said Huang. “In less than a week, Oswigo County added more than 150 positive cases, of which one-third were associated with social gatherings. Small clusters occurred in families, households and groups, and then The virus spreads rapidly through social gatherings.
“People need to be aware that the activity of the COVID-19 virus is increasing in our county,” Huang said. “Precautionary measures need to be strengthened now to limit the spread of the virus. Avoid non-essential gatherings, reduce social distance, wear face covers and wash hands frequently. “
The Oswego County Health Department monitors COVID-19 activity throughout the county and works closely with the State Health Department and community organizations to encourage residents to follow precautionary measures.
