Illinois COVID: Health authorities aim to educate residents about false information about vaccines as part of their distribution program
The Director of Public Health said Illinois was ready to receive 400,000 doses of vaccine when the first batch was shipped.
Its first batch is for healthcare professionals and first responders, but many are wondering how it will eventually be distributed to the general public.

In the Chicago region, a newly formed group of healthcare professionals and dozens of other organizations are working together to ensure fair distribution of approved vaccines. This is especially true in the areas that suffered the most pandemics.
As the COVID-19 vaccine gets one step closer to reality, the challenge is to convince people to plan for distribution and take it.
Here’s how to make a vaccine for COVID-19:
“I’m scared. I don’t know if I’m going or taking it,” said Tina Leonardo, who lives in Chicago.
She is not alone.
The sale and education of people on vaccines is part of the mission of Dr. Jerry Krishnan and Kareem Watson. On behalf of UI Health and Miles Square Health Center, they are part of a new group called the Vaccine Corporation Partnership, which involves 35 private and public health systems and community organizations.
“I think the heart of the vaccine partnership is the fair distribution of vaccines,” Krishnan said.

Dr. Krishnan said the vaccine company is not a vaccine army, but instead acts as a credible messenger to communities hit hard by COVID-19, especially in the South and West.
“The conversation we want is to deal with many medical distrusts and many myths and misconceptions about vaccines,” Watson said.
Watson said the conversation begins with acknowledging the past
“Research is often done for us, not for us, and it is sometimes embedded in our memory,” he added.
Watson said conversations about health inequalities must be part of every distribution program, a method of grassroots movement in each region.
Although it can take months for the vaccine to become generally available, the Vaccine Corp partnership believes it is time to start educating the community. They hope that some basic work has already been done in the outreach on testing and protocols.
