The· Orange County Healthcare Agency 1,943 new cases of coronavirus were reported on Friday, November 27, and statistics were updated locally starting Wednesday.
The department was closed due to Thanksgiving and did not update the online dashboard that day.
The cumulative total of cases reported in the county since the start of follow-up is 75,095 cases as of Friday.
10,509 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the last 14 days.
Eighteen new deaths were reported by the county on Friday, bringing the total number of reported deaths to 1,577.
Of the cumulative 1,577 deaths reported by the virus, 594 were residents of skilled care facilities, 128 were in life support facilities, and 4 were listed as homeless.
The breakdown of deaths by age in the county is as follows:
- 85 years and over: 32.97% (514)
- 75-84: 21.68% (338)
- 65-74: 19.63% (306)
- 55-64: 13.79% (215)
- 45-54: 7.70% (120)
- 35-44: 2.57% (40)
- 25-34: 1.35% (21)
- 18-24: <. 1% (4)
- 17 years old or younger: 0% (1)
Data on deaths in the county can be edited from death certificates or collected during the case study process, which can take weeks to process, officials said. The most recent death was November 14th.
It is estimated that approximately 82% of the cumulative cases reported, or 59,080, have recovered as of Friday. The number of people who have recovered is based on the cumulative number of cases over the last 28 days.
According to the latest information from the county, coronavirus tests have been performed 1,426,129 times since they were started locally, and at least 40,934 tests have been reported in the last 48 hours.
The county also reported 506 patients with coronavirus at a local hospital on Friday – 27 more than Wednesday’s report. The maximum number of hospitalizations in Orange County was 722 on July 14. There were 139 patients listed in the ICU on Friday.
Authorities emphasize that the data posted daily is tentative and subject to change. More information may be available once individual case studies are completed.
