SD County Expands Coronavirus Vaccination to Over 65
San Diego, CA — Saturday’s San Diego County has expanded the category of people eligible for coronavirus vaccination to those over the age of 65.
“As pointed out a few weeks ago, the county expanded its eligibility to individuals aged 65 and over during the week of January 25, as part of its ongoing focus on those at greatest risk. “I expected,” said Dr. Wilma J. Uten. County Public Health Officer. “The decision was made (Saturday) afternoon because many healthcare providers are currently vaccinated in this age group and the UC San Diego Health Super Station has extra reservations.”
She said she still needed a reservation and vaccinations were available based on supply. These new requirements apply to all sites that offer county vaccines.

Only healthcare professionals and people over the age of 65 can visit the vaccination site, Uten said. It is advisable to contact your doctor or healthcare provider first to request a vaccine, but if none is available, you will need to book a county site.
Reservations are required. Unreserved walk-ups and drive-ups will be rejected.
According to Uten, if you are infected or ill with COVID-19, please do not make an appointment.
