New York, NJ has been added to the Kansas Travel Quarantine List – Welcome to Wyandotte Daily!

According to a KDHE news release on Friday, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment has revised its travel quarantine list to include two states, New York and New Jersey.

Two countries, Palestine and Estonia, have also been added, but one has been removed. This is Seychelles. Several countries are on the list, including Mayotte, Czech Republic, San Marino, Montenegro and Seychelles.

A comprehensive list of individuals in need of quarantine includes visitors and Kansas, including:

• Traveled to New Jersey or New York after March 12th.
• Traveled to Palestine or Estonia since March 12th.
• Since February 26th, I have traveled to Mayotte, Czech Republic, San Marino, or Montenegro countries.
• Attend more than 500 out-of-state mass rallies where individuals are not socially distanced (6 feet) and are wearing masks.
• Participated in a cruise ship or river cruise after March 15, 2020.

The travel quarantine period is 7 days if the test result is negative, 10 days if there is no test result, and the quarantine is released on the 8th and 11th days. The number of cases of COVID-19 was reported

Wyandot County reported an increase of 58 COVID-19 cases from Thursday, March 12, a cumulative increase of 17,870. The cumulative total of reported deaths is 278, unchanged since Thursday. Friday was the last case number update.

The Central American Regional Council’s COVID-19 dashboard reported 161,339 cumulative COVID-19 cases on Saturday. The average daily number of new hospitalizations was 83.

Kansas reported 297,748 cumulative COVID-19 cases on Friday, March 12, an increase of 519 from Wednesday. There were a cumulative total of 4,824 deaths, a decrease after the death review. The last case update was Friday.

The Johns Hopkins University COVID-19 dashboard on Saturday night reported 29,399,832 cases in the United States, killing 534,288 people nationwide.

COVID-19 test scheduled for Monday

The free COVID-19 test is available on Monday, March 15th, from 9am to noon at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church on the 9301 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas.

The test is conducted through the Wyandot County Health Disparity Task Force. Food is distributed to those who have been tested, but supplies remain. No reservation required.

The Unified Government Health Department’s COVID-19 test and vaccine site is scheduled to open on Monday, March 15. The test site for the former Kmart Building on the 78th and the state will open from 9am to 3pm on Monday, March 15th. Not required for COVID-19 testing and vaccination for people over 65 on Monday. Bring-in vaccinations are open Mondays from 10 am to 2 pm. The former Best Buy store, located at 10500 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas, also houses the UG Health Department for COVID-19 testing and vaccination. The UG Health Department provides COVID-19 vaccine to residents of Wyandot County over the age of 65 from Monday to Friday.
