Vaccination eligibility for COVID-19 hotspots in the York region cannot be reduced to age 18 or older
Inadequate vaccine supply continues to hamper the region’s ability to keep up with the expansion of state eligibility, a spokesman for the York region says.
The York region will not extend its eligibility to residents over the age of 18 at all 16 hotspots identified on Monday.
“Our vaccine supply does not currently allow people over the age of 18,” said Patrick Casey, a spokesman for the York region, in an email.
He said the York region will provide more details later today as to which vaccines will be prioritized.
The Government of Ontario today announced that in 2021, residents over the age of 18 will be resident “due to a stable and reliable increase in vaccine supply this week.” 114 hotspot communities As of Monday, you are eligible to book your COVID-19 vaccine at a mass vaccination clinic through the state’s online booking system or through a public health unit that uses your own booking system.
