Virtua Health Doctor Has Stroke After COVID-19 Infection
Dr. Troy Randle assisted patients fighting COVID-19 at Virtua Health in South Jersey.
He tried to stay protected, but was infected by a virus.
His symptoms seemed a little different from what he was used to.
“I don’t usually have headaches, but I felt that the headaches were just front and back, and I was squeezed in both directions,” Randle said.
He says his symptoms will be catastrophic.
“I often work fine during the day. It gets worse at night and my wife sometimes makes me laugh. She saw me walking neatly around my bedroom and then I seem to be curled up. I woke up in the fetal position. “
It turned out that the virus caused the coagulation of his vertebral arteries. He suffered a stroke.
“I think my stroke started on Thursday morning. I didn’t present it to the ER until Saturday,” Randall said.
Strokes have been found to be increasingly common in COVID-19 patients.
“Our system actually had another patient under the age of 50,” Randle said.

Dr. Pascal Jabul says strokes occur in young and old coronavirus patients.
“I noticed that young patients with no risk factors had a stroke,” Jabul said.
The type of stroke they face is much worse than usual.
“Usually when someone has a stroke, it is a blood clot in one blood vessel. But here we have seen patients with blood clots in more than one blood vessel in the brain. Stroke despite opening a blood vessel is another part of the brain. “
