A 10-year-old girl who was sentenced to 24 hours to live after a doctor found a brain tumor and had blurred vision
A school girl who complained of blurred vision after a doctor found a brain tumor was given a life expectancy of 24 hours.
Holly Hartley, 10, became ill while at school and was taken to the hospital by a worried family member.

She was subsequently severely diagnosed with a brain tumor that was discovered and died the same day.
Thankfully, a brave young man from Dagenham, East London, passed through and the tumor was removed.
18-year-old brother Charlie said: Essex Live: “My sister asked us if I would die or if I slept, I wouldn’t wake up. I was sad.
“But we were trying to be positive for her.”
Charlie initially thought her sister was about to take a break from school, but she complained in the morning that she couldn’t get out of bed.
However, the worried family took her to the hospital for examination after the school called her to take her home because she was ill and had blurred vision.
After waiting six hours, they received the disastrous news that Holly had only one day to live.
What is neurofibromatosis?
Neurofibromatosis is a group of tumors that grow in the nervous system.
It is caused by a genetic mutation in a particular gene and can be inherited from parents or occur in the early development of the patient.
There are three different types. NF1, NF2, and neurofibromatosis.
Currently, there is no cure or cure, but tumors are usually non-cancerous.
If the tumor causes problems or becomes cancerous, the patient may need surgery. You may also be treated for complications such as high blood pressure.
Symptoms include the following:
- Coffee-colored patch on the skin
- freckles
- Tumors above or below the skin
- Learning and behavioral problems
- Visual problems
- High blood pressure
- Physical development problems such as a bent spine or a larger than average head
She miraculously survived 24 hours and was taken to Great Ormond Street Hospital for successful tumor removal.
Later, doctors discovered that she had neurofibromatosis. Neurofibromatosis is a rare condition of the skin in which tumors form in nerve tissue.
The disease can cause tumors in the cranial nerves and spinal cord of the brain.
Holly will now have to fight an incurable disease for the rest of her life and will have to return to the hospital for an MRI scan every three months until she is 16 years old.
She also needs chemotherapy to grow or remove the tumor.
Her brother said, “She understands what she is experiencing now.
“She wants to make sure everyone is safe and hides her pain. It’s really hard to see.”
