Earthquakes hit Rajasthan, Meghalaya and Ladakh within hours of every Bikaner, Tora and Leh

Bikaner: Earthquakes were felt in three states of the country in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The highest intensity was in Bikaner, Rajasthan. An earthquake occurred in Bikaner, Rajasthan at 5:24 am. Here the strength of the earthquake was measured at 5.3 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter was 343 km west-northwest (WNW) of Bikaner, Rajasthan, the National Seismology Center reported.

Besides Bikaner, an earthquake was also felt by Meghalaya. An earthquake happened here at about 2:10 am. Its intensity was recorded at 4.1 on the Richter scale.

“Quake of magnitude 4.1, occurred on 07-21-2021, 02:10:49 IST, Latitude: 25.88, Length: 90.34, Depth: 10 km, Location: 42 km northeast of Tora, Meghalaya,” National Seismology Center tweeted .

Meanwhile, a 3.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in Leh, Ladakh, at 4:57 am. No property losses or injuries were reported.

“Quake of magnitude 3.6, occurred on 07-21-2021, 04:57:46 IST, latitude: 34.20 and long: 77.78, depth: 200 km, location: 19 km from Leh, Ladakh,” the National Seismology Center tweeted.

Earlier on Sunday, a 3.9-magnitude earthquake was felt in Kutch district of Gujarat state. A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck at 12:43 p.m. with its epicenter at a depth of 14.2 km northeast of Bachao, 19 km from Kutch District. A 1.6-magnitude earthquake occurred in the same area the day before on Saturday at 12:02 p.m., with its epicenter 21 km northeast of Bachao.

According to the state’s Disaster Management Authority, the Kutch region is located in a “high-risk seismic zone”. The area was hit by a 6.9-magnitude earthquake in January 2001, which caused a lot of destruction.
