Maggie went to a vaccination clinic on the Genesis West campus.
“I wanted to get the booster as soon as possible because of my job. Genesis opened its vaccination clinic in early October and got the booster on October 9,” Maggie said. “Looking back, I didn’t want to wait, so I went to Genesis. That’s how it all started.”
Local health care providers Genesis Health System and Unity Point Health-Trinity provided some good news to others who were billed for Magee and COVID-19 on Friday.
A Genesis Health System spokesman said patients would not be charged for vaccines or booster shots. Another Genesis official added some context as to why claims related to vaccines and boosters are displayed.
“We file an insurance claim for vaccination,” explained Bodexter, Head of Clinical Operations at Genesis Health System. “Insurance must be paid to the patient at no cost.”
