Lebanon's worst fire in decades – BBC News
Lebanon has called for international assistance to deal with hundreds of forest fires that have spread on Monday and abroad.
Blakes – the worst in decades – began in the mountains of western Lebanon amidst the heat waves and harsh winds.
Heavy smoke was spotted in Beirut and Sidon, and a volunteer firefighter was reported dead.
Two forestry workers have also been killed in the northwestern region of Latakia, according to Syrian state media.
Eight more people have been injured in the blaze, Sana news agency reported.
