Health officials have confirmed that a potential cluster of Covid-19 cases is being investigated in North Lanarkshire.
BBC Scotland understands that the outbreak is associated with a call center that tracks the coronavirus contact of the NHS.
One employee said he believed that at least seven colleagues had a positive reaction.
NHS Lanarkshire said it was aware of several “potentially relevant cases”.
Dr. David Cromie, NHS Lanarkshire consultant in public health medicine, said: [19 July] Of numerous potentially related cases of coronavirus (Covid-19) in Lanarkshire.
“We have initiated some emergency measures to reduce the risk and are currently investigating the situation.”
The Scottish government had previously stated that 23 new cases of Covid-19 were detected in the last 24 hours across Scotland, although there were only three in the Lanarkshire health board area.
It follows an increase of 21 new cases on Saturday-the highest number every day in almost a month.
Prime Minister Nikola Sturgeon said it is still small and the changes are “expected”.
The percentage of positive tests is well below 1%.
Health officials had previously said they didn’t believe they were dealing with linked clusters because the new case this weekend that appeared in official statistics was widespread in Scotland.
