X boss Elon Musk on Friday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the Indian leader's followers on the social media platform crossed 100 million, making him the most followed world leader.

Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the most followed leader in the world! Musk said in a post on X.

Prime Minister Modi's number of followers on his X account crossed 100 million on Sunday, a growth of nearly 30 million in the last three years, officials said.

He is the most followed government leader on the platform globally, with 100.1 million followers today. He joined X (then Twitter) in 2009 when he was the chief minister of Gujarat.
