Another minor earthquake was reported in northern Marion County near Lake Bull Shoals less than two weeks after the last one hit the area. The U.S. Geological Survey says the 2.2-magnitude quake was recorded 9 1/2 miles west-northwest of Bull Shoals at 10:30 p.m. Saturday. The site is 20.9 miles west-northwest of Mountain Home, 24.2 miles east-northeast of Harrison and 30.4 miles east-southeast of Branson.

Experts say that earthquakes of less than magnitude 3 are usually not felt by humans. But earthquakes of less than magnitude 2 can be felt by humans if the earthquake is shallow (only a few kilometers) and if it is very close to the epicenter and is not affected by surrounding factors such as noise, wind, engine vibrations, traffic, etc.
